Friday 22 August, 2014 7-9pm
P21 GALLERY 21 Chalton Street, London NW1 1JD, UK
P21 Gallery presents Voices, an intimate collection of photographic and video works that capture the vitality and resilience of Palestinians struggling under a matrix of colonisation and displacement by award-winning British photographic artist, writer and activist Rich Wiles.
Join us for the artist talks with Rich Wiles and War on Want campaigner Rafeef Ziadah to discuss the voices in the exhibit and ways to be involved in Justice for Palestine campaigning at this crucial moment. Artists talks will be followed by a poetry reading.

Wednesday 10 September 2014, 6-7.30pm
The British Academy, 10-11 Carlton House Terrace, London SW1Y 5AH
This interactive event will explore issues of conflict, militarisation, human rights abuses, destruction of livelihoods, and displacement in resource-rich developing countries. Looking at the relationship between these issues and the extractive industries, this event will use short videos and live performances to highlight community struggles and showcase efforts for alternative forms of development. The event hopes to directly address themes of corporate accountability and developmental alternatives in the build-up to the expiry of the Millenium Development goals in 2015.
This event is organised in collaboration with War on Want and the Spoken Word Educators Programme.
